Engineer became farmers locate sustainable life style in farming

Study Engineering in a reputed organization. Get a degree… Land in a plum job... It might be enough for modern-day teenagers. But for a few engineers, their diploma does not rely upon considering a sustainable way of life. Different engineers who ventured into farming may also have different perspectives approximately farming, but the common subject is to set a sustainable lifestyle.

Abhishek Dharma, who first broached ditch engineering to make a profession in farming, the farmers of north Delhi’s Palla village mocked him by calling him ‘Mr. Stevia’. He believes in functional engineering within the next industrial revolution. Another Engineer, Abhishek Singhania, has some other story to tell. He took up farming to produce cheap organic meals. His father’s illness brought him on to do so. Before venturing into farming, he spent some time on farms to see things firsthand. Graduated from IIT in metallurgy, Singhania ceases his huge and bulk income and a swanky workplace atmosphere for a sweaty farm close to Kolkata.

He has set up a farming company, Echoes, a version farm for plants and practices. Singhania uses it to educate and teach farmers approximately generating organic meals with price-reducing strategies. He stated, “Farmers ought to be capable of making a sustainable income.” His opinion is that that might be carried out with cost-reducing methods in farming. An electrical engineer, Vishal, unearths greater pleasure in looking for a plant to develop rather than reveling in a celebration or getting a fat paycheque.

He grows an array of vegetation, including cherry tomatoes, capsicum, celery, lettuce, and watermelons. He will sell his produce to online stores. He opines that natural generating is important as well as increasing the farm produce. According to the World of Organic Agriculture 2018 file, India is home to 30% of general organic producers globally but accounts for just 2.59% of the total organic cultivation area of 57.8 million hectares. The volume at which organic farming is being executed in India needs to be expanded, opine the brand new era of engineer farmers.

The sustainable lifestyle of farming even attracted IBM govt Venkat Iyer, 53, who ventured into agriculture after quitting his job in 2003. Iyer bought 4.5 acres of land in Peth Village in Dahanu taluka, about one hundred km from Mumbai. He cultivated a couple of plants and experimented on a smaller scale. After 16 years, the techie became a farmer has written a book titled ‘Moong over Microchips Adventures of a Techie Turned Farmer.’
